  The National Museum of Fine Arts is located in the central part of the Stockholm. It is also known as The Nationalmiseum. Due to the enormous collections of paintings, sculptures and graphic art, the Nationalmuseum is considered a National Gallery in Stockholm. Through the main art collection are listed the works of reputable local artists: Hanna Pauli, Carl Larsson, Bruno Liljefors and also artists worldly recognized as: Rubens, Rembrandt, Goya, Renoir.  There is also exhibited a collection of Modern Design from 1900-2000. The National Museum of Fine Arts is the main institution in Stockholm that preserves and exhibits the main art works. The rich art collections and the actual design works form the cultural national inheritance of Sweden.  This monumental institution is open to partnership with other museums, art galleries and artists, in order to enrich the arts value in Sweden. The National Museum is cooperating with The Prims Eugens Waldemarsudde  Art Museum in order to preserve and expose the art works and to promote the art education. The National Museum is also the largest institution that hosts art works from the 16th century till the present works.

The total number of the hosted collections and exhibitions ensemble around 16.000 sections. The Museum also covers international collections, as the 18th century French art exhibition. There are also exhibited national and North countries design and applied arts collections with valuable importance. The prints and drawing collections gain over 400.00 pieces, from the early 1900. Some of the most valuable and impressed works are by Rembrandt, Eduart Manet, Carl Fredrik Hill, Ernest Josephson. The National Museum of Fine Arts, hosts The Royal Castles Collections. The National Portrait Gallery, with 4000 pieces is one of the most appreciated. The Gustavberg Porcelain Collection consists of 30.000 pieces, made by the Gustavberg Porcelain factory till 1993. The Nationalmuseum is recognized as a national heritance and also as a cultural and architectural value for the European art institutions.
 
  Recently, the Museum was renovated with special equipment and techniques, in order to facilitate the reservation of the sculptures, drawing, pictures and art masterpieces. The Nationalmuseum is considered a national cultural institution that is opened for all types of art presentations, collaboration and creative changes. The National Fine Art Museum is proving an educational system, that consists of providing arts studies for primary school pupils, students, adults and surely for all art addicted fans. The Museum’s major mission is to keep the national cultural works, to make it available and opened for the society and to support the beginner artists to develop their art abilities. Due to such a noble approach, the National Museum of Fine Arts became a really appreciated institution by the society and by the other art institutions.
